and so it begins…again

newb: slang term for a novice or newcomer, or somebody inexperienced in a profession or activity.

That’s me.

I’ve been down this road before. Many, many, MANY times before. There have been many “I’ll start on Monday” or “I’ll start on the 1st of the month.” I’ll start and it’ll last for a week and then I’m right back to where I started.

I used to go to the gym, do yoga and eat semi-healthy. I maintained a healthy weight and felt pretty decent overall. Then life happened, parenting happened and I just lost track of the things that I knew that I needed to be doing.

Right now, I feel gross. I’m not exercising. I’m not eating right. I am currently the heaviest that I have been (outside of pregnancy): 216 pounds. I’d blame quarantine and my new found love of bread making, but really I’m a feelings eater and I’d rather eat what is unhealthy for me than what I know is good for me.

So here I am, with another new month, and another set of wellness intentions. I am determined to have THIS TIME be the change in the tide. I’m calling this Diary of a Fitness Newb and I am hoping that you will follow along with me.

Every week I will check in and share any weight loss wins, recipes and or self-care tips that are helping me along the way. I’m not an expert in anything fitness, health or wellness related, nor will I ever claim to be. I’m just an every day woman and mom who is trying to figure out what tools will work best for her. It is my hope that my journey and the tools that I use can maybe help someone else.

Maybe by the end of the summer, I won’t be such a newb anymore.

Be well!
